Sean MathiasSean is the newly appointed Artistic Director of the Theatre Royal Haymarket. His career as an international director includes:  Bent (Martin Sherman); Uncle Vanya (Anton Chekhov); Ghosts (Henrik Ibsen); Les Parents Terribles (Jean Cocteau); Design for Living (Noël Coward); A Little Night Music (Stephen Sondheim); Marlene (Pam Gems); Antony and Cleopatra (William Shakespeare); Suddenly Last Summer (Tennessee Williams); Dance of Death (August Strindberg); The Elephant Man (Bernard Pomerance); Company (Stephen Sondheim); Antigone (Sophocles); Aladdin (Bille Brown); Shoreditch Madonna (Rebecca Lenkiewicz); The Cherry Orchard (Anton Chekhov); Triptych (Edna O’Brien); Ring Round the Moon (Jean Anouilh); Waiting for Godot (Samuel Beckett). On radio: Les Parents Terribles. On film: Bent.He has worked at the Royal National Theatre and in the West End (UK), the Kennedy Centre, the Mark Taper Forum, Off-Broadway and also several times on Broadway (USA), as well as Paris, Sydney, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Los Angeles. Sean has written a number of plays including the award winning A Prayer for Wings and the screenplay for the award winning BBC film The Lost Language of Cranes.  Other awards include: La Prix de la Jeunesse at the Cannes Film Festival, a Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival, and in London the Critics Circle Award and the Evening Standard Award for Best Director. His productions have been nominated for 22 Olivier and 14 Tony Awards. Breakfast At Tiffany’s is Sean’s second production in a season of plays at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, following a sell out run of a national tour and a sell out season at the Haymarket of his first production, Waiting for Godot starring Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.
