
This is the fourth time David has worked with director Sean Mathias. He was previously in Bent and Antony and Cleopatra, both at the National Theatre, plus the movie of Bent.
David’s theatre work includes: Ernest in Design for Living (Theatre des Capucins, Luxembourg); Garry in Noises Off (Oldham Coliseum); Don Pedro in Much Ado About Nothing and Heisenberg in Copenhagen (both Salisbury Playhouse). At Birmingham Rep he has appeared as Surly in The Alchemist, Ratty in Toad of Toad Hall, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, plus the David Hare trilogy, The Servant, Dangerous Corner and The Grapes of Wrath. He has appeared in Hamlet in three consecutive productions over three years, playing Guildenstern, Rosencrantz and Rosencrantz again at the Young Vic, the Globe and Birmingham Rep’s production at Elsinore. He has also played Hamlet at Birmingham Rep in a studio production. Other shows include: Peter Pan, Henry V, Hamlet and Love’s Labour’s Lost (all RSC) and A Patriot for Me (West End).
His television credits include: most recently, The Bill and Doctors. Also: Prime Suspect, Waterloo Road, Spooks, Hustle, Wire in the Blood, After Henry and Albion Market.
